# FAQ

### Security and data processing

<details>

<summary><strong>Does AI learn from users' documents?</strong></summary>

No. The system **Bluur®** does not learn from documents uploaded by customers.

Customer data is not collected, stored, or used for further training of AI models. Documents sent to the system are used solely to perform classification and anonymization within the user's account.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Are documents used to train external models?</strong></summary>

No. User documents are not used to train either internal or external models.

Files uploaded to the system are processed solely for the purpose of providing the service, namely data classification, document anonymization, and making the result available to the user.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Are the data processed in the European Union?</strong></summary>

Yes. The system **Bluur®** operates on OVHcloud infrastructure, in a data center located in Poland, in Ożarów Mazowiecki.

Customer data is separated between individual customer environments. Each customer has a separate database for their environment, logs, and configuration. The exception is payment-related data, which is processed by Stripe.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Is Bluur® GDPR-compliant?</strong></summary>

Yes. Bluur® was designed with personal data protection requirements in mind, including GDPR.

As part of using the system, it is possible to conclude a data processing agreement. The system supports organizations in reducing the risk of personal data disclosure through automatic document classification and anonymization.

However, the user should always verify the classification and anonymization result before further use of the document.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Does Bluur® undergo penetration testing?</strong></summary>

Yes. Bluur® undergoes annual penetration tests performed by an independent provider.

The system is also covered by continuous vulnerability scanning, which helps identify and mitigate potential security risks.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Is the data encrypted?</strong></summary>

Yes. Data sent to the system is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3.

User passwords are secured using encryption and hashing mechanisms.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Is anonymization irreversible?</strong></summary>

Yes. Anonymization in the system **Bluur®** is irreversible.

After anonymization is performed, the system overlays black boxes on the indicated areas of the document. The data beneath these boxes is not available in the anonymized version of the file.

If the document is archived, the original source document is removed from the system, and only the anonymized version remains available.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Does BTC have access to user files?</strong></summary>

Documents uploaded to the system are stored in the customer's account and are not used by the service administrator for any other purposes.

The classification and anonymization process is automatic. The contents of documents are not manually reviewed by a human on the system administrator's side.

Any technical access to the data may be carried out only by authorized persons and only to the extent necessary to maintain the service, handle a request, or fulfill legal obligations.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Can other customers have access to my data?</strong></summary>

No. Customer data is separated.

Each customer has a separate environment for data, logs, and configuration. Data from one organization is not shared with other customers.

</details>

### Documents and anonymization

<details>

<summary><strong>What happens to a document after uploading it to the system?</strong></summary>

After uploading a document, the system saves it to the customer's account and automatically starts data classification.

After classification is complete, the document is made available to the user for review. The user can check the detected fields, remove incorrect markings, change their position or size, and then proceed to anonymization.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>What happens to a document after anonymization?</strong></summary>

After anonymization, the user can download the anonymized document.

The anonymized document does not overwrite the original file on the user's drive. The system downloads it as a new file with the suffix **\_redacted\_data** and the date the anonymization was performed.

Depending on the retention and archiving settings, the original document may remain in the system for a specified time or be deleted.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Are documents deleted automatically?</strong></summary>

Yes, if the appropriate retention settings have been configured.

The administrator can specify how long documents, original documents, and documents after quick anonymization are to be stored in the system.

After documents are deleted, they cannot be restored.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Can I delete a document myself?</strong></summary>

Yes. A user can delete a document from the system if they have the appropriate permissions for that document or project.

After a document is deleted, it cannot be restored.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Does the anonymized document overwrite the original file on the user's drive?</strong></summary>

No. The anonymized document is downloaded as a new file.

The original document on the user's drive is not overwritten by the system.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Does the user need to check the document before anonymization?</strong></summary>

Yes. The user should verify the classification result before performing anonymization.

The system supports automatic data detection, but the user should check whether all data requiring protection has been correctly marked and whether any elements that should not be anonymized have not been marked.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Can I correct the fields detected by the system?</strong></summary>

Yes. During the classification stage, the user can edit the fields detected by the system.

You can delete a field, change its position, or adjust the size of the selection.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Can I manually add an area for anonymization?</strong></summary>

Yes. Manually adding your own areas is available at the stage [**Anonymization**](/en/functions/working-with-a-document/stages/anonymization.md).

The user can mark an additional part of the document to be hidden if the system did not mark it automatically.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>What should I do if AI did not detect data in the document?</strong></summary>

If during classification AI did not detect a fragment you want to anonymize, you can add it manually.

Proceed to the stage **Anonymization**, and then mark on the document your own area to be removed during anonymization.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>What should I do if AI incorrectly classified a fragment of the document?</strong></summary>

The AI classification results can be verified before performing anonymization.

If a fragment was marked incorrectly, you can remove the detected field, change its position, or adjust the size of the selection.

Before starting anonymization, always check the marked areas and make sure they cover the correct data.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Why can't I add a document?</strong></summary>

First, check whether the document is in a supported format and does not exceed the permitted file size.

If the document meets the requirements, but it still cannot be added:

1. refresh the page,
2. try adding the document again,
3. clear the browser cache,
4. check whether it works in another supported browser.

If the problem still occurs, contact technical support and provide the file name and format, its size, and information about the displayed error message.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Can I download the anonymized document again?</strong></summary>

Yes, if the document is still available in the system.

Document from **Anonymization history** can be downloaded by its owner, if the download option is available for the given entry.

Document availability may also depend on the configured retention, which determines how long documents are stored in the system.

If the document has already been deleted according to the retention rules, it will not be possible to download it again.

</details>

### Teamwork and projects&#x20;

<details>

<summary><strong>Can other users see my documents from quick anonymization?</strong></summary>

No. Documents uploaded through quick anonymization are assigned only to the user who added them.

They are not automatically shared with other users in the organization.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Can I work on documents as part of a team?</strong></summary>

Yes. Bluur® supports teamwork within projects.

Other users from the organization can be assigned to a project. Users added to the project gain access to the documents in it and can work together on their classification and anonymization.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Where can I find documents added through quick anonymization?</strong></summary>

Documents added through quick anonymization are visible in the tab [**Projects**.](/en/functions/projects.md#projekt-szybka-anonimizacja)

If the project is still not visible despite correct assignment, contact the organization's administrator or technical support.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>What should I do if the user did not receive an invitation?</strong></summary>

First, check whether the correct email address was entered when sending the invitation.

The user should also check the **Spam**, **Offers** or other folders to which the message may have been automatically moved.

The Bluur invitation is valid for **24 hours**.

If the invitation has expired, the administrator should invite the user again. If the next invitation also does not arrive, contact technical support.

</details>

### Event log

<details>

<summary><strong>Does the system keep a history of actions?</strong></summary>

Yes. Bluur® saves the anonymization history and system events.

In the operation history, you can check, among other things, who created the document and when, when the document was classified, who performed the anonymization, when the document was opened, archived, or deleted.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Is every document opening recorded?</strong></summary>

Yes. Every document opening is recorded in the system events.

In the document operation history, openings are grouped into 5-minute sessions to reduce excessive repetitive entries.

</details>

<details>

<summary><strong>Who can download a document from the anonymization history?</strong></summary>

Only the document owner can download a document from the anonymization history, if such an option is available for the given entry.

The availability of the download depends on the document status and previous operations performed, such as anonymization, archiving, or deletion of the source document.

</details>

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://bluurdoc.bluur.ai/en/system/faq.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
