# Adding documents

Documents can be added to a project in several ways. The system allows one or multiple files to be added at once, either from the project list view or from the view of a specific project.

Click the **Add document**, located next to the project add button.

In the displayed window:

* select one or more files from your disk or drag them into the add field;
* indicate the project to which they are to be assigned;
* confirm adding the documents.

Once the operation is complete, the files will be available in the selected project.

## Dragging a document onto the selected project

Documents can also be added directly from the project list view. Drag one or more files from your disk, then drop them onto the selected project.

The system will start uploading the files and assign them to the specified workspace.

## Creating a project by dropping documents

From the project list view, you can also create a new project based on the documents being added.

Drag one or more files from your disk and drop them into the field **Drop the file here**. The system will start creating the project and assign the uploaded documents to it.

## Adding documents from the project view

Documents can also be added after entering the selected project.

Click the **Add document** or drag one or more files directly into the project area. After the upload is complete, the documents will be available to users assigned to this workspace.

{% hint style="info" %}
After adding the document, the system will assign it to the selected project. The document will be available to users who have access to this workspace.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}
The maximum size of a single document is **10 MB**. The total size of documents in one project cannot exceed **100 MB**.

If one of the limits is exceeded, the system will display a message in the upper right corner of the screen informing you of an invalid file size. The document will not be added to the project or sent for classification.

Detailed requirements regarding file formats and limitations can be found in the section [**Supported documents**.](/en/getting-started/quick-start/supported-documents.md)

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://bluurdoc.bluur.ai/en/features/projects/project-list/adding-documents.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
